Specification for air duct heaters for hazardous air in hazardous areas. Chromalox hazardous location duct heaters are designed for use in applications where hazardous gases or dusts may be present. They feature a heavy duty, rugged frame and heating elements. Stainless steel and painted heater frames can be designed for corrosive and marine environments. Model FP-AH and EX-AH are offered with integral safety cutouts to maintain surface temperatures below rated temperature classes. Configurations are offered with ATEX, IECEx, EAC, and CSA certifications where the hazardous location is either outside of or within the air stream. Duct heaters can also be configured for use in low ambient temperatures, down to -50°C (-58°F).
