Chromalox hazardous location duct heaters are designed for use in applications where hazardous gases or dusts may be present.  They feature a heavy duty, rugged frame and heating elements.  Stainless steel and painted heater frames can be designed for corrosive and marine environments.  Model FP-AH and EX-AH are offered with integral safety cutouts to maintain surface temperatures below rated temperature classes.  Configurations are offered with ATEX, IECEx, EAC, and CSA certifications where the hazardous location is either outside of or within the air stream.  Duct heaters can also be configured for use in low ambient temperatures, down to -50°C (-58°F).

BAT-EX Hazardous Location Duct Heater

Type DH duct heaters are pre-engineered, factory assembled units consisting of a standard frame section, heating elements and a prewired control panel. They are available in a wide range of standard frame sizes, with various heating capacities and heating stages operating on AC voltage ratings of 120 to 600V.

The standard duct heater is designed to be inserted in a rectangular opening cut in the side of a horizontal or vertical duct. For larger ducts or where it may be more desirable to attach the duct directly to the heater, a frame may be added to the heater.

EP-AH Hazardous Location Duct Heater

Model EX-AH are rugged, custom engineered, duct heaters designed for harsh, hazardous location environments.  The elements terminate and are bussed within a single IP66 enclosure to allow for easy wiring.  ATEX, IECEx, and EAC certifications are available for multiple temperature class applications as well as ambient temperatures down to -50°C (-58°F) and as high as 55°C (131°F).  Integral over-temperature devices allow the EX-AH to be used in applications where the hazardous location is either in or outside of the duct air stream.

FP-AH Hazardous Location Duct Heater

Model FP-AH are rugged, custom engineered, duct heaters designed for harsh, hazardous location environments.  Designs consist of element banks mounted in a rigid flange frame, that allows for an almost endless number of configurations.  The element banks are pre-wired and bussed to a single point for easy wiring.  The modular design allows for easy removal and replacement of element banks in the unlikely event of failure.  ATEX, IECEx, EAC and CSA certifications are available for multiple temperature class applications as well as ambient temperatures down to -50°C (-58°F) and as high as 60°C (140°F).

Integral over-temperature devices allow the FP-AH to be used in applications where the hazardous location is either in or outside of the duct air stream.  Marine and stainless steel constructions are available for use in offshore and corrosive environments.  And an IP66 terminal enclosure prevents water and dust from penetrating sensitive components.
